Why Traditional Hemorrhoids Treatments Fail

Way back in 1959 a company called Bio-Dyne announced to the world its new product that “in case after case” had help to ease the symptoms of hemorrhoids. Bio-Dyne branded their new wonder product as Preparation-H and it remained a favorite of sufferers for many years.

Since then not much has changed with hemorrhoids treatments. In fact in some respects over the counter treatments have become less effective. The reason for this is that when Bio-Dyne first released its product it contained a substance called LYCD. It is this substance that helps to shrink swollen skin and so ease symptoms.

However, LYCD has since been removed from Preparation-H and other similar creams after it was banned by the FDA! This means that the over the counter treatments available today are less effective than they where in the 1950′s!!!

So what effective treatments are available to help cure your hemorrhoids? Well there is laser coagulation, rubber band ligation or a hemorrhoidectomy. All of these options require a stay in hospital and several weeks of painfulrecovery. Other treatments involve injecting a chemical into your anus with sclerotherapy or photo-coagulation, where infra red is used to burn the damaged tissue.

No matter what type of hemorrhoids you have, whether it is your first time or you have suffered for years, then take a look at self help program. There are several available with each offering a way to permanently cure your hemorrhoids. These programs approach the problem of hemorrhoids from a holistic or whole body point of view.

If you have internal or external hemorrhoids you can try a few simple things that can help you ease the pain. Things like using witch hazel swabs, eating more fiber and taking alternate hot and cold baths. You can even add a handful of salt to help while you soak the affected area.
